- If you email us, we use your email only to reply and keep a record of the conversation.
- Our hosting provider keeps basic technical logs (like IP address) for security, as Indian law requires.
- You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data at privacy@phpdev.in.
1. Who we are
phpdev.in (“phpdev.in”, “we”, “us”) is an independent software studio based in India. For the personal data described here, we are the Data Fiduciary under the DPDP Act and a body corporate under the Information Technology Act, 2000 (“IT Act”).
Contact for any question about your personal data: our Grievance Officer — grievance@phpdev.in. Privacy requests: privacy@phpdev.in.
2. What this policy covers
This policy covers the website at phpdev.in only. Our products have their own websites and their own privacy policies, because they do different things:
- NeoKit — neokit.site/privacy
- Fluent14 — fluent14.com/privacy
3. Personal data we process, and why
Here is the complete list of personal data processed through phpdev.in, the specific purpose for each, and the legal basis.
| Data | When | Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your email address, name (if you give it) and message | Only if you email us | To reply, handle your request or complaint, and keep a record of it | Information you provide voluntarily for that purpose (DPDP Act s.7(a)); handling grievances and legal requests (s.7(d)) |
| IP address, browser type, date/time and page requested (server logs) | Every visit, kept by our hosting/CDN provider | To deliver the site, block abuse and investigate security incidents | Complying with law, including CERT-In Directions under s.70B of the IT Act and the security rules under the DPDP Act (s.7(d), s.8(5)) |
| Your theme choice (“light” or “dark”) | Only if you press the theme button | To remember your display preference | Stored only in your browser's local storage; never sent to us |
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, sensitive information such as passwords, financial account details, health data, Aadhaar numbers or biometric data.
4. What we don't do
- No analytics, tracking pixels, fingerprinting or session recording.
- No advertising and no advertising cookies.
- No selling, renting or trading of personal data.
- No third-party fonts or scripts — our fonts and code are served from our own domain.
- No automated decisions about you.
5. Service providers (Data Processors)
We use a small number of providers who process data on our behalf, under contract and only on our instructions:
- Website hosting and CDN — to serve the website and keep it secure (server logs).
- Email hosting — to receive and send email at @phpdev.in addresses.
We may also disclose personal data if required by law, a court order, or a lawful request from a government agency authorised under Indian law, such as CERT-In.
6. How long we keep it
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Emails and attachments you send | Up to 24 months after our last exchange, then deleted — unless we need them longer for a legal claim or complaint. |
| Server and security logs | At least 180 days and up to 1 year, as required by the CERT-In Directions and the DPDP Rules, 2025, then deleted. |
| Theme preference | On your device until you clear your browser storage. |
7. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you have the right to:
- Access — a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we process it (s.11).
- Correction, completion, updating and erasure of your personal data (s.12).
- Grievance redressal — a response from us within the time limits set by law (s.13).
- Nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to (s.14).
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent (s.6(4)).
To use any of these rights, email privacy@phpdev.in from the address you used with us. We may ask for a little information to confirm it's you. We reply within 30 days at most. If you are outside India, you may have similar rights under your local law (for example the GDPR); write to the same address.
You also have duties under s.15 of the DPDP Act — for example, not to impersonate someone else or file false or frivolous complaints.
8. Consent and withdrawal
phpdev.in does not run anything that needs your consent. If we ever add something that does (for example, optional analytics), it will be off by default, we will ask clearly first, and withdrawing will be as easy as giving consent. We will update this policy before that happens.
9. Children
phpdev.in is a general-audience studio website and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18, and we do not track or target advertising at children. If you are a parent or lawful guardian and believe a child has emailed us, write to privacy@phpdev.in and we will delete it.
10. Security and personal data breaches
The site is served only over HTTPS with modern security headers. Our email and hosting accounts use strong authentication and limited access. We follow reasonable security practices as required by s.43A of the IT Act and s.8(5) of the DPDP Act.
If a personal data breach affects you, we will tell you without delay in plain language — what happened, the likely impact, what we are doing and what you can do — and report it to the Data Protection Board of India and, where required, to CERT-In, within the time limits set by law.
11. Transfers outside India
Our hosting, CDN and email providers may process data on servers outside India. Such transfers are allowed under s.16 of the DPDP Act, except to countries the Government of India restricts by notification; we will not use providers in any restricted country.
12. Grievances
Contact our Grievance Officer at grievance@phpdev.in. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours on working days and aim to resolve them within 15 days, always within the time limits set by law. See the Grievance Officer section for details.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India after using our grievance process, as provided by s.13(3) of the DPDP Act.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change how we use personal data, we will update this page and the “last updated” date before the change takes effect. If you would like this notice in Hindi or any other language listed in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India, email us and we will provide it.
